1986 Demonstration of "impedance" measurements on lead-acid batteries, which eventually permitted the "relative performance" of the cells in a string to be determined, by comparison with "baseline" or "trending" curves, "reference" cells or previous measurements.

1996 Battery capacity, in ampere-hours, without load testing.

Battery-EKG is not impedance, conductance, resistance, or load testing. "Baseline," "trending," "reference cells" or cell-specific calibration curves are unnecessary...

... because we have developed, and use (made possible by the latest computer, ULSI, SMT, and multilayer PCB fabrication technology), a comprehensive, electrochemically accurate computational model of a lead-acid battery ...

Battery-EKG eliminates your having to invest valuable time, learning how to operate a battery tester - or waste valuable time, trying to understand or interpret measurement results.

All measurements are performed by Channel D representatives, using specially designed testing units. Battery connections are not disturbed; the battery remains securely connected and completely charged during the entire testing procedure.

The test includes a battery survey, including measurements of cell temperatures, cell voltages, jar / post seal conditions, and more. The test takes approximately 3 hours per 23 / 24 cell string. The time is needed for the testing units, interfaced to portable, powerful laptop computers, to collect, distill and analyze over 250 million measurements.

Battery-EKG requires access to individual cell connections, because it is performed on a cell-by-cell basis: the most comprehensive and reliable method available.

What you get: not arcane or "relative" impedance, conductance, or resistance readings, but a concise, full color, easy to understand report, graphically and clearly showing battery capacity (and more).

Do you depend on load testing to evaluate the performance of your batteries - - or first-generation "passive" or "on-line" test methods (impedance, conductance, resistance) for battery performance screening? We can provide a safer, more convenient, accurate and economical alternative:

Testing principles based upon a solid, scientific foundation in electrochemistry and battery testing technology, with accuracy comparable to load testing - without the risk, expense or inconvenience.

The hidden complexity behind "on-line" battery testing has rendered it the subject of confusing and often contradictory information. An overview of the important issues is provided in our technical "white paper," showing data from carefully made measurements; please telephone for a free copy.
