AudioLeak allows quickly (over 200 times realtime on current Macs) and easily determining the relative (perceived) playback volume of sound / music files (and real-time audio input). Displays average unweighted RMS, A-Weighted RMS, peak values, histogram of signal levels, and more. AudioLeak is a Universal Binary that runs natively on PowerPC and Intel Macs. Requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later, G4 or newer CPU. The download is a demonstration version of AudioLeak that can be fully enabled with the purchase of an Activation Code. The Demo also can be run as AudioLeak Professional, which includes more features, such as Batch processing, Variable RMS ballistics, Logging, and more. What's new in this version (2.0.4):

Set your player to a low volume level before playing the files. Loudspeaker damage will occur if the volume is set too high! 1 kHz Burst: This is an MP3 file with short (100 millisecond), full-scale waveform pulses with a frequency of 1 kHz. Useful for comparing the transient response of the TechRTA plug-in to the iTunes built-in RTA. (Fast transient response is essential if the RTA is to track the musical signal in a meaningful way). 16 kHz Tone: This is an MP3 file with a continuous, full scale tone with a frequency of 16 kHz. Useful for comparing the frequency response of the TechRTA plug-in to the iTunes built-in RTA. (Extended high frequency response of the RTA is useful for examining the loss of high frequencies resulting from encoding MP3s at low bit rates). This file is bigger than the 1 kHz file because it was encoded at a higher bit rate (to preserve the 16 kHz!) :) |
